Berberis vulgaris
Similar in taste and look to dried cranberries, the Barberry is more tart and less sweet. Used widely in Iranian and Middle Eastern cooking, add Barberry to chicken and rice dishes for a sweet-sour contrast. High in Vitamin C, this berry is also traditionally used to make juice and fruit rolls. Add to jams, chutneys as well as game dishes such as goat.
